The Usefulness And Effectiveness Of EnviroHub Products

Water usage in quarries or construction sites is commonplace; whether it’s during industrial processes such as aggregate washing or cement making, as a dust suppression media, or hosing down dirty equipment. However such activities raise the risks of contaminants entering watercourses, so control of water quality is paramount.

With the Environment Agency carrying out regular checks and requesting proof of compliant disposal, having a robust system in place has never been more important.

EnviroHub is a comprehensive system that enables companies to monitor and control the quality and flow of water from the moment it arrives on-site to the point it is disposed of safely and cleanly. It can also be used to clarify and recycle water onsite in a closed-loop system.

How EnviroHub Works

EnviroHub can provide data readings, email alerts, and automated actions to monitor and treat multiple aspects of water, including pH, turbidity, temperature, and flow.

EnviroHub’s modules are chosen to match site requirements, which all connect to each other, and other compatible plant controls via the CM02 control module. This also natively integrates with Senteos, the online data portal.

How EnviroHub Treats Different Water Qualities

EnviroHub measures and treats a number of water parameters including turbidity (suspended solids), pH, and flow volume.

In the case of turbidity, EnviroHub can slow the flow to allow particulates to settle and create cleaner water. With pH levels, it can monitor and correct any imbalances by holding contaminated water in a tank and dosing it with the correct chemical to raise or reduce the pH.

The Elements Of EnviroHub

1. Powerful Control Module

The patent pending control module is the brains behind EnviroHub. This control module (CM) is designed to collect, relay and respond to various water quality metrics. It offers real-time monitoring, automated data recording and manual or pre-programmed commands such as pump start-up or shut-off.

With a rugged build, it’s ideal for monitoring water remotely and commanding pumps and equipment in heavy industries such as mines, quarries and wastewater treatment.

Additionally, the CM can be powered via 415v, 230v, and 110v making it suitable for use in multiple instances. It can also be solar-powered for improved environmental practices.

With the updated CM02 launching this year, EnviroHub will offer even greater security, visibility, ease of use and extra parameters.

2. Intuitive Monitoring Unit

EnviroHub’s monitoring unit (MU) is an easy-to-install point monitor suitable for a wide range of water quality and flow volume sensors. Four model sizes provide low-friction flow for 2” to 10” pipework installation.

3. Dosing Unit

The Dosing Unit (TU) gives accurate, consistent dosing regardless of flow volume fluctuations, making it suitable for many water treatment applications, such as coagulant or flocculant dosing. It is low energy and promotes best environmental practices by preventing over/under dosing.

4. Treatment Tank

The Treatment Tank (TT), usually connected to the Dosing Unit, provides fast mixing and low agitation ‘dwell time’. Depending on requirements, the dwell time can be time-fixed or parameter-based, so it releases the batch only when the desired quality is reached. It works with a variety of reagents including polymers, acids, and alkalis.

5. Correction Tank

The Correction Tank (CT) is specifically designed for pH correction, such as neutralising acidic water or high alkaline concrete/cement washout water, for reuse or compliant disposal. The continuous flow makes high volumes easy to handle without much manual intervention needed. The CT-LU model uses liquids to correct pH, such as citric acid or alkaline media, whereas the CT-GU uses gas (CO2) to lower pH.

6. Washout

The specialist concrete washout (CW) makes pre-filtering of waste concrete and truck washout easy and fast. The CW is often used as a primary treatment prior to pH neutralisation in the EnviroHub CT and fine silt removal in the HL Lamella tank.

7. Final Processing

Final water cleaning is achieved in EnviroHub’s Lamella Tank (HL): a popular follow-on module from the Treatment Tank (TT) or pH correction unit (CT), providing exceptionally clear water for reuse or release.

8. Remote Monitoring And Control

EnviroHub has native integration with Senteos, the online portal that enables remote data logging, live dashboard reporting and remote control of equipment in even the most inaccessible locations.
