Internal Maintenance Engineer Job Advert

 

We're looking to add an Internal Maintenance Engineer to our Operations team here in Chesterfield. 

As a knowledgeable and reliable member of the team you will play a vital role in the continued development of our rapidly growing business, a business heavily reliant on exceptional levels of customer service and a company driven by lean objectives.

You will be responsible to carry out tasks in a timely and accurate manner, with attention to detail and an exceptional quality of workmanship. It will involve hard work and we will look for you to go the extra mile when needed.

As a team we look out for each other and, as such, hold each other to the highest standards. You must not be put off by this environment. You will be expected to develop a large degree of responsibility over time.

Job Description

This role revolves around good engineering knowledge, problem solving and a ‘Can do’ attitude. Specific duties including:

  • Servicing slurry and dewatering pumps
  • Diagnostics and problem solving
  • Understanding of diesel engines
  • Basic electric knowledge and willingness to learn
  • Welding and fabrication

You will be asked to complete an MMA Weld Test

It will stand your application in very good stead if you have previous experience in the quarry or recycling industry, ideally you will have spent some time working as a fitter or similar in this environment. We are also interested in Apprentices who are part way through qualifying.

It can be a difficult working on jobs which have a tight deadline - you will be dealing with external and internal challenges some of which can end up out of your control. While there’s plenty of satisfaction when things go right, you must be prepared to take the knocks and continue with a positive approach.
