Atlantic welcomes four new staff as growth trajectory continues

Building on a highly successful 2024, which saw growth in headcount, sales, new products and innovative solutions, Atlantic Pumps continues to recruit fresh talent to drive customer service forward through 2025.

Welcome our new Sales Manager Daniel Hughes, Customer Service Team Leader Samual Potts, Internal Sales Co-Ordinator Jared Thomas, and Field Service Engineer Alistair Knox.

Daniel Hughes is no stranger to Atlantic Pumps, having worked in the sales department ten years previously. With his extensive experience gained as Business Development manager at another manufacturing company in the meantime, we are excited to have him back in the Atlantic Pumps team.

As Sales Manager, Daniel will be taking our latest innovations to market, forging relations with strategic partners, and helping our clients achieve their commercial, operational, and ESG targets when dealing with challenging fluids or dry bulk handling.

During the past few years, Atlantic Pumps has grown and evolved while staying true to our founding mission to provide customers with a better experience when dealing with challenging fluids and slurries. Inhouse innovations such as EnviroHub, and Senteos, strategic partnerships with hire companies, other leading manufacturers and EPCs such as LSM, Kronoa, and Nordic Bulk, plus the acquisition of Peveril (dry bulk handling equipment) have led to significant growth.

Daniel and his team have plenty of opportunities this coming year to connect more customers to the solutions they need, as we meet the challenges of today’s ever-changing world.

Samuel Potts is settling in well, with his organisational and administrative skills matched by his positivity and great team spirit. Behind the scenes or face-to-face, we are sure our customers will soon feel the benefit of his zest for service solutions. He naturally exhibits our culture of “Genuine Care, Speed and Simplicity, and Commitment to Excellence” – and we are sure our customers will benefit greatly from his leadership of our customer services team.

Samuel brings his experience in administration, technical sales account management, and as a former site coordinator at an advanced manufacturing company. This is a background that gives him good insight into the challenges often faced day-to-day by our clients, and equips him well to make your workday that little bit smoother.

Additional investment into customer services was announced last year, following a growth in sales driven largely by our innovation and prior investment into engineering solutions for better wastewater treatment, environmental compliance systems and monitoring equipment, and process systems for ‘green mining’ of critical minerals.

Jared Thomas joins the team from college and has spent his first few weeks working around the different business departments. During this time, he has shown a high level of attention to detail and commitment.

With his sights firmly set on a career in sales, like all Atlantic Pumps sales staff, Jared is undergoing training on pump systems and getting hands-on practical experience on the factory floor and during site visits. His growing understanding of pump engineering, system fabrication, pumpset builds and repairs, worklife on industrial sites, alongside absorbing our company culture will enable him to serve our customers with practical solutions that meet their specific requirements.

Alistair Knox is an experienced fault-fixing and diagnostic engineer with 15 years of safety-critical installation and maintenance work on railway infrastructure all over the UK and Ireland.  He will shadow our Onsite Service Team supervisor, Ben Whittington, for the first few weeks to learn the intricacies of our customers and their pumps before heading out on his own. He is based in central Scotland and will be looking after pump equipment on customer sites in Scotland and Ireland.

His addition to Atlantic Pumps’ field engineering team will dramatically strengthen this important area of customer care, allowing fast and effective pump expertise to reach more locations.

This investment into our customer-focused sales and support team follows a year that saw us supply over 1,500 pumps, with a combined flow rate of 38 megalitres per seconds – that’s around 15% of Niagara Falls flow!

As Atlantic Pumps MD, Andy Smith reflects “…we [recently] expanded our team significantly, welcoming talented new professionals who are already making a big impact. Their skills, enthusiasm, and dedication are helping us deliver outstanding service to our customers.”

“This investment is to help our customers deploy proven solutions quicker, with our pre and after-sales support providing more confidence.”

Looking forward through 2025, Andy reveals another key investment the company is making to support growth areas. “Expanding our hire fleet of low-maintenance pumps allows more customers to prove an innovative solution works for them, before making the investment decision. This eliminates buyer’s risk in choosing pump technology and we hope it will speed up improvements - financially and environmentally - across the water utilities and related industries. The pump hire fleet is also used by sites to remain operational during renovation works, equipment overhauls, and plant clean-downs.

Furthermore, Andy explains “We continue to develop our monitoring package offering, enabling more companies to hit their compliance targets and to protect our environment from pollution.

“We start this new year fully charged, full of hope, and ready to work together on more sustainable and practical solutions to the challenges of our modern world”.
