Vibration Tables

Vibration motors and vibrating air hammers have an important role to play in the movement and processing of dry powders and granular material. They are also used on screening decks and wash-plants to help separate and clean bulk materials.

Most vibration motors have an eccentrically mounted weight on their shaft, to throw the torque off balance. The centrifugal force from this ‘eccentric rotating mass’ (ERM) translates the rotary motion into an up-and-down or side-to-side oscillation, depending where they are mounted.

A ‘3-D’ multidirectional vibration or unidirectional vibration can be produced to suit the application, and RPM can be set to high or low. This enables vibration motors to be useful for either preventing settlement of heavy particles, or for compaction purposes, eg for saving space in storage and transportation.
