What makes a Multi-stage pump unique?

A key feature of centrifugal pumps is that they are ‘pressure-dependent’. This means their total head pressure is the combined result of the supply pressure and the extra pressure generated by the pump. Multistage pumps make use of this ‘pressure build’ by arranging multiple impellers in series, with each stage adding more pressure to the previous stage.
