Varisco are an established manufacture of self-priming pumps, and their J Series and ST-R ranges are highly regarded for pumping abrasive fluids and suspended solid/dirty water mixes.
The self-priming feature is valued in duties requiring ad-hoc, or frequent stops and starts, and where the pump needs siting significantly above the water level.
Varisco J Series and ST-R Series
The Varisco J Series is the go-to pump for reliable, fast priming in pumping duties that require frequent starts and stops. They hold a reserve of water within the pump at the end of each cycle, providing a pre-primed chamber between duty periods.
Varisco’s ST-R Series are designed for maximum ease of cleaning, unclogging, and maintenance in fiberous and suspended solids sludges and slurry pumping. In addition to their semi-open impeller, large access hatches enable quick unclogging and servicing of all internal parts – without having to disconnect the pipework or lift the pump.

Both the J and ST-R series share:
- Self-priming capability without auxiliary systems up to 7.5m suction lift
- Solids handling up to 76mm (3”)
- Constructed from materials to match the duty; iron, hardened cast iron, bronze or stainless steel interior/wet parts
- Can pump air-liquid mixtures in addition to fluids-only
- Mechanical seals prevent leakage from the shaft
